Storyline:

UPDATE: Queen Latifah Still Starring in Beauty Shop

Yesterday it was reported online that actress Vivica A. Fox was replacing Queen Latifah as the star of the upcoming Barbershop spin-off, called Beauty Shop.

Not so, MGM tells us. Queen Latifah is still playing the lead in the film and Fox is not involved. No story details on the new film are available at this time.

Storyline:
A week in the life of Ben, a powerful Hollywood producer, as he juggles negotiations with a studio head so that his newest picture can open at Cannes in two weeks, with a high-strung director who must make edits to the film, with an actor and his agent because the star has arrived on the set of a new picture with a full beard, and with his most recent ex-wife, Kelly, whom he discovers may have a lover. He also notices that his 17-year old daughter, from another marriage, has probably been crying. What's up? Spike Lee Shopping She Hate Me

Spike Lee is shopping for financing for his next film, a comedy called She Hate Me.

As Lee talks with UGC and distributors to fund the film, he's lining up Anthony Mackie to star with Nia Long, Whoopi Goldberg and Jim Brown. Lee is also talking to Rosario Dawson and Woody Harrelson to take part.

In the film, a Harvard-educated biotech exec (Mackie) gets fired when he blows the whistle on his bosses. He supports himself by impregnating high-powered lesbians. One of those is an ex-girlfriend (Long).

Lee wants Goldberg and Brown to play Mackie's parents.

Norwegian director Petter Naess (Elling) has signed to helm Earthbound, a cancer dramedy at 20th Century Fox for producer John A. Davis' Davis Entertainment banner.

Circa 460 A.D.
